Harrods set to open hotel chain
Investment firm Qatar Holding is set to open a succession of Harrods themed hotels all over the globe. Cities revealed include London, China, Italy, Paris, Kuala Lumpur and New York. Qatar’s goal is to establish Harrods as a global luxury powerhouse via leisure and retail sectors.
In 2012, Qatar purchased Harrods at $2.3bn and strives to continue expansion of its investment. Hotels plans are already in place for London and Italy where they will be utilizing locations already owned in Chelsea Barracks and Sardinia.
