PENFOLD PRESENTS WINE VALUED AT $170,000
Australian winery Penfold presents a rare 2004 Kalimna Block 42 Cabernet Sauvignon vintage elixir valued at $170,000. With only 12 bottles available, the wine is encased in an intriguing design made from hand blown glass which is the perfect environment for the wine. The glass house is positioned in a wooden case.
So how would one enjoy the wine when they are ready to open it? Well the buyer will have to contact a senior representative from Penfold’s team in order to open and enjoy. An expert from the team will come directly to the buyer and open the bottle with an instrument that only they possess.
“The wine contained within the ampoule, first released in the 1950s, holds a particular significance among generations of Australian and international wine collectors. One of the ampoules will remain at Penfolds’ Magill Estate Winery in South Australia, and one will be kept by luxury retailer DFS and feature at the Master of Spirits event in Singapore early in the New Year” Penfolds confirmed in a statement.
